Despite earlier wobbles, the US stock market managed to close in positive territory overshadowed by surging US Treasury yields following the release of stronger than expected Retail Sales data, underscoring the resilient US economy and fueling fears that the Federal Reserve will need to raise interest rates one more time before the end of the year. Bond yields continued their gains, with the 2-year Treasury yield surging to a 17-year high.

Wall Street's major indexes closed higher on a highly volatile Wednesday (11/10/23) trading, after the release of minutes from the last FOMC meeting in September, which showed caution among policy makers about continuing the upward trend in interest rates, is fueling investor hopes that rates would stay steady, at least at November meeting of the US central bank.
